At the Venezia awards press conference, Martin McDonagh, who just won the screenplay prize that is best, was asked about whether films should be responsible on social and political issues. This was his response:
“Cinema has a responsibility to discuss everything. Maybe there should be less films that are marvel cinemas.”
You just knew I happened to be likely to pull“the list out.”
