SYDNEY (Reuters) – India doesn’t need to say upfront the way it will vote on the United Nations Common Meeting on a probable draft decision condemning Russia’s proclaimed annexation of elements of Ukraine, Overseas Minister S. Jaishankar stated on Monday.
“As a matter of prudence and coverage, we do not predict our votes upfront,” Jaishankar stated throughout a joint media briefing together with Australia’s Overseas Minister Penny Wong in Canberra.
The Common Meeting is because of vote on the draft decision on Tuesday or Wednesday, diplomats stated.
Russia had vetoed a UN Safety Council decision launched by the USA and Albania late final month condemning the proclaimed annexation, with China, Gabon, India and Brazil abstaining.
