The Claddagh Fund happens to be giving back since its inception during 2009, with regards to was started as Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey since the band’s charitable foundation.The foundation held its 13th celebrity that is annual tournament, which was hosted by Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee.Boston comedy legend Lenny Clarke, recently-retired Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask and two three-time Super Bowl champions with the New England Patriots, Joe Andruzzi and Matt Chatham, were among those who played in Tuesday’s tournament.The Claddagh Fund honors the three attributes of the Claddagh ring: friendship, love and loyalty. The foundation’s mission is to raise money for the most underfunded organizations that are nonprofit support vulnerable populations in Massachusetts communities.Casey said the task the Claddagh Fund has been doing is much more important than ever.”We basically raise money to assist children, veterans and folks struggling with addiction,” Casey said. “Once the opiate epidemic has gotten worse and worse, nearly all our efforts have shifted like that. We help people get treatment therefore we’re type of very hands-on, individually, because of the ongoing work.””I saw the flags on the Boston Common. Twenty thousand people in Massachusetts have passed,” Clarke said. “We’ve got to stop it!
